Micro chips help in the return of your stolen or lost tackle

Micro chipping service for your  new or existing rods and tackle

Tackle thieves don't care about the upset they cause you when they steal your tackle. The ruined holiday or fishing trip you may have had planned. Or the cost of replacing expensive items that you had probably saved hard for. To them it's just a few quid down the pub. Recently, on one of the major web forums, an angler reported the theft of some £6500 worth of equipment.  Fellow anglers sent their sympathy of course and suggested that the angler should 'keep an eye out at Boot Sales and the like'!

Even if you see a rod, pole or other piece of equipment, that you could swear was yours, at a boot sale, can you prove it?  A microchip can!

Now you can, inexpensively, go a long way towards preventing theft by having your tackle identified by the police and hopefully returned to you. Sussex Police say:-

"Any initiative that can assist in reducing crime is welcome but where theft of property does occur, your product will undoubtedly facilitate the return of the items to their rightful owner".

Dennis Donovan. Force Crime Reduction Adviser (commenting on the system)

How the system works

At the time of  hand building your rod a micro chip, not much larger than a grain of rice, is implanted. This microchip carries the information that, when scanned , will identify you as the rightful owner. Once your unique identifier is set in the chip it is unalterable and placed on the database. Your tackle also carries a hard to remove label that shows that your equipment is chipped and should deter theft. All police forces have the scanners that read the chips and link to the database.

Yes please, I want my rods and tackle micro chipped

To have your rod chipped at build stage will only cost you £10.00. Retro chipping is from £25.00 depending on the item. The cost includes registration to the national database
